  1. Dink Drill:

Objective: To practice control and touch with short, soft shots close to the net.

Instructions:

- Stand at the non-volley zone (kitchen) line with a partner.

- Begin by hitting soft, controlled shots back and forth, keeping the ball low and within the kitchen area.

- Focus on using a gentle wrist motion and maintaining a consistent rhythm.

  1. Third Shot Drop:

Objective: To develop accuracy and consistency with the third shot drop, a crucial skill for initiating the rally after the serve.

Instructions:

- Start at the baseline with your partner positioned at the non-volley zone line on the receiving court.

- Serve the ball underhand to your partner's non-volley zone, aiming for a soft landing just over the net.

- Your partner responds with a controlled drop shot back to you, placing the ball softly into your non-volley zone.

- Alternate roles and repeat the drill, focusing on maintaining a consistent trajectory and placement with each shot.

  1. Groundstroke Rally:

Objective: To improve groundstroke technique and build confidence in hitting forehand and backhand shots from the baseline.

Instructions:

- Stand at opposite baselines with your partner.

- Rally back and forth, focusing on hitting the ball with proper technique and footwork.

- Emphasize consistency and control over power, aiming to keep the ball in play for as long as possible.

- Experiment with different shot angles and depths to develop a well-rounded groundstroke game.

  1. Lob and Smash:

Objective: To practice defensive lobs and offensive smashes, essential skills for transitioning between defense and offense during a point.

Instructions:

- Begin at the non-volley zone line with your partner.

- Your partner lobs the ball high over your head, simulating a defensive shot.

- Move quickly to position yourself for the smash, timing your approach to meet the ball at its highest point.

- Execute a powerful overhead smash, aiming to drive the ball downward with speed and accuracy.

- Alternate roles and repeat the drill, focusing on timing and coordination between the lob and smash.

  1. Serve and Volley:

Objective: To develop proficiency in serving and following up with a volley at the net, putting pressure on your opponent from the start of the point.

Instructions:

- Start at the baseline with your partner positioned at the non-volley zone line.

- Serve the ball underhand or overhand to your partner's non-volley zone.

- Follow your serve to the net and prepare to volley your partner's return.

- Practice volleying with control and placement, aiming to keep the ball low and in play.

- Alternate roles and repeat the drill, focusing on consistency and anticipation at the net.
